Terms of service
Last updated:
These terms set out the rules for using the fanaticmc.com website, the Fanatic Client launcher and client, the online services and digital items. They are the terms for electronically supplied services under the Polish Act of 18 July 2002 on Providing Services by Electronic Means.
1. Provider and definitions
The provider is CodeFanatics Sp. z o.o., Litwinki 21, 13-100 Nidzica, NIP: 9840216706, REGON: 525516131, email: [email protected].
- Fanatic Client: the launcher (a Windows app) and client (a mod for Minecraft: Java Edition on Fabric) made available by the Provider.
- Online services: features that run through the Provider's server, including showing cosmetics and emotes to other players, friend status and notifications, sharing waypoints and pings, and updates and news.
- Items: digital cosmetic items (such as capes, wings, hats and auras) used in Fanatic Client.
- Store: the item store at https://store.fanaticmc.com, run by Tebex Limited.
- User: anyone using the website, Fanatic Client, the online services or the Store.
- Consumer: a User who is a consumer under Art. 22¹ of the Polish Civil Code. The provisions on Consumers also apply to sole traders with consumer rights, to the extent the law provides.
2. Services and technical requirements
The Provider makes the website, Fanatic Client and the online services available free of charge. Only Items bought in the Store are paid.
You need a PC with Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit), an internet connection, an up-to-date web browser (for the website and Store) and a Microsoft account that owns Minecraft: Java Edition.
The agreement to use Fanatic Client and the online services is concluded for an indefinite period when you first run Fanatic Client. You can end it at any time by uninstalling Fanatic Client and no longer using it.
Minors may buy Items only with the consent of a parent or legal guardian.
Using the internet carries risks such as malware and phishing. Only download Fanatic Client from fanaticmc.com, never give anyone your Microsoft password (Fanatic Client never asks for it), and don't install mods from untrusted sources.
3. Licence
Fanatic Client is protected by copyright. The Provider grants you a free, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use Fanatic Client for private, non-commercial use.
Without the Provider's consent you may not distribute Fanatic Client or modified versions of it, offer it for a fee, circumvent its protections (such as update signatures or item ownership), or decompile it beyond what the law allows.
Mods and libraries by other authors (such as Fabric, Sodium and Lithium) and content downloaded from Modrinth are covered by their own licences.
Fanatic Client is not an official Minecraft product and is not approved by or associated with Mojang or Microsoft. When playing Minecraft, you follow Mojang's and Microsoft's terms and the rules of the servers you play on. The Provider is not responsible for decisions made by server administrators, including their bans.
4. Rules for the online services
In particular, you may not:
- disrupt the server, including overloading it or exploiting bugs,
- impersonate other players or the Provider, or use someone else's account,
- modify the client or its communication with the server to get Items without buying them,
- send other players spam or unlawful or offensive content,
- sell accounts or Items outside the Store.
If you break these terms or the law, the Provider may block your Minecraft account from the online services temporarily or permanently. A ban doesn't stop the game or Fanatic Client's local features. On request we will tell you the reason; you can appeal by writing to [email protected].
Items stay assigned to a banned account but can't be used during the ban. A permanent ban for serious or repeated violations ends the agreement for the online services; we confirm this on the User's request.
The online services may be interrupted, for example during updates or outages. We try to keep interruptions short.
5. Items and purchases
You buy Items in the Store. The seller, the party to the sales contract and the party taking the payment is Tebex Limited. Prices, payment methods, how the contract is concluded and payment refunds are governed by Tebex's terms, which you accept at checkout.
The Provider delivers the Items. Once Tebex confirms the payment, Items are automatically assigned to the Minecraft account (UUID) given at checkout, usually within a few minutes. Check the username before you buy. Items can be moved to another account only in justified cases, after contacting us.
When you buy an Item, you get a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use it in Fanatic Client on the assigned account for as long as the online services run. Items have no monetary value and can't be exchanged for money or resold.
Other Fanatic Client players can see your Items. Every player can hide other players' cosmetics on their own screen.
If a payment is refunded or charged back, the Items from that order are removed. If a payment dispute is decided in your favour, they come back.
If the Provider decides to stop running the online services, it will announce this on the website and in the launcher at least 30 days in advance.
6. Right of withdrawal
A Consumer may withdraw from a distance contract within 14 days without giving a reason. This right does not apply to a contract for digital content not supplied on a tangible medium if performance has begun with the Consumer's prior express consent and their acknowledgement that they lose the right of withdrawal once performance has begun (Art. 38(1)(13) of the Polish Consumer Rights Act of 30 May 2014).
Items are delivered right after payment, so by placing an order with that consent you lose the right of withdrawal. This doesn't affect your rights if an Item doesn't conform to the contract (section 7).
Payment refund requests are handled by Tebex as the seller. You can also write to us and we'll help.
7. Complaints
If Fanatic Client, the online services or an Item don't work as agreed (for example, an Item you bought didn't appear on your account), write to [email protected]. Include your username or UUID, the Tebex transaction ID if it's about a purchase, and a description of the problem.
We reply within 14 days. Consumers have the rights for digital content or digital services that don't conform to the contract set out in Chapter 5b of the Polish Consumer Rights Act.
Complaints about the payment itself (such as being charged twice) are handled by Tebex.
8. Liability
Fanatic Client is free and may contain bugs. We develop it with care, but to the extent the law allows we are not liable for mods and services provided by others, decisions made by Minecraft server administrators, loss of data stored on your PC, or damage caused by using Fanatic Client in breach of these terms.
This doesn't limit liability towards Consumers where the law doesn't allow it, or liability for intentional damage.
9. Out-of-court dispute resolution
Consumers in Poland can get help from a municipal or district consumer ombudsman or consumer organisations, and use mediation or the permanent consumer arbitration court at the regional Trade Inspection office. More information: https://uokik.gov.pl.
10. Personal data
How we process personal data is described in the Privacy policy.
11. Changes to the terms
The Provider may change these terms for good reasons, such as changes in the law, in Fanatic Client's features or in the Store's rules. We publish the new version on this page at least 14 days before it takes effect, unless the law requires a faster change. Changes don't affect earlier purchases. If you don't accept the changes, you can end the agreement by no longer using Fanatic Client.
12. Final provisions
These terms are governed by Polish law. Consumers keep the protection given by the mandatory laws of the country where they normally live.
